Need reliable KitchenAid fridge repair

Hi everyone! Our KitchenAid French door fridge started making loud noises and the ice maker stopped working. Food is still cold but worried it might fail completely soon. Last experience with a repair guy was terrible — he charged $150 and problem came back in a week. Looking for honest technicians who actually fix things right.

Ugh, that $150 revisit nightmare is the worst. I had a similar scare last winter my KitchenAid started buzzing like a drone and the ice maker just quit. Turned out the water inlet valve was failing and the fill tube had frozen solid. First tech just "cleaned" it; problem back in 5 days. Second guy actually replaced the valve and cleared the tube properly. He found me through a KitchenAid-specific repair page https://highcityappliance.com/brand/kitchenaid  and charged fair, no upsells. Before you call, try this: unplug for 5 min, check the filter isn’t clogged, and listen if the buzz comes from the back (compressor) or ice maker area. If it’s a loud hum or grinding, could be the evaporator fan - common on French doors. But if you want someone who won’t ghost you after a week, look for a tech who specializes in KitchenAid and uses OEM parts. Saved me a full replacement bill. Good luck!
