Finding meaning in the Student Athlete Experience

Originally published on Princeton University News by Nick Donnoli, Office of Communications

Walking onto the squash team as a freshman has had a transformative effect on Princeton University senior Natalie Tung.

In the video above, Tung, an English major from Hong Kong, describes the academic and social support she found through the squash team. A desire to create a caring community for others led her to co-found a nonprofit called HomeWorks Trenton, an afterschool boarding program for middle and high school girls.

“Through Princeton Athletics, I’ve really been able to see and experience myself the value of community, and support, and mentorship,” Tung said.
