The Campaign for HomeWorks House is enabling us to expand our program and establish permanent roots in Trenton. This is a pivotal first step toward bringing our unique after-school residential model to communities across the country and around the world.

INSIDE OUR HOME

Ground Floor

The ground floor is thoughtfully designed to foster collaboration and well-being. With ample natural light flooding through grade-level windows, this space will serve dual purposes. Half will be dedicated to administrative offices, eliminating the need to rent office space elsewhere and enhancing coordination between staff and operations, while the other half will provide essential amenities for scholars. ā€‹

Key features include:

  • Administrative offices and meeting room for at least 15 people

  • Teen lounge

  • Laundry room

When Our Dream Becomes a Reality

August 2022 (1).heic

Given our residential model, a permanent house was always part of the HomeWorks Trenton vision. Our Founder Natalie met Joshua Zinder (Founder of architecture firm JZA+D) at a panel, where she shared their dreams of owning their own campus one day. Joshua asked “Why not now?”. A year later, HomeWorks established a Building Committee with experts in real estate, development, construction, design, zoning, law and more. We found 1212 Edgewood Ave and thought “we are home!" We secured funding from a local foundation that allowed us to purchase the property for cash!
