PLANS

First Floor

The first floor will have an open layout where scholars can dine, study, attend programming, hold meetings, and relax together. With large, open rooms, this space will facilitate communication and bonding. The floor plan will maximize square footage and light while promoting ease of movement.

Unity Center

The Unity Center is the largest space in the dorm. It is a spacious, light-filled link between the kitchen and the common rooms. It will have table and chairs that can be configured in different ways and can be used as a room to gather for dining, programming and tutoring.

The Pot-Luck Patio

The Pot-Luck Patio will be an outdoor space for scholars, staff, families and community members to gather. Our bi-monthly potluck tradition - starting from the very first day of HomeWorks back in 2017 - will be held here!

Learning Lab

The Learning Lab will be a gracious space in which to work or relax will be available through optional partitions. Individual study carrels and larger tables for group projects will appeal to however scholars are most productive studying. Comfortable couches and chairs will also be available.

Teaching Kitchen

The teaching kitchen will be a space where the scholars cook collaboratively, learn through doing, and gain life skills that inform their future health. It is an important part of our holistic approach.

TIMELINE
