The Cook Center: Over 50+ free parenting courses for parents


The Cook Center is a nonprofit foundation created to bring the best programs, partnerships and events to districts and communities to help eradicate teen suicide and strengthen family mental health.  


Here is a summary of the supportive services, of which most are free.  School districts can share with parents. Many put a link on their websites for parents and families.  


Over 50+ parenting courses for parents, including self help courses ParentGuidance.org    Free anonymous and in your home, ParentGuidance.org includes "Ask a Therapist" which provides answers to the tough questions our parents and students are facing today.


The Cook Center for Human Connection provides free Virtual Mental Health Nights for parents featuring our clinical director, Dr Kevin Skinner.  See video here: click here  


ParentGuidance Mental Health Series:  ongoing interactive and anonymous events for parents on topics chosen by the district.

Healing & Harmonizing Women and Girls Support Group

"Healing & Harmonizing" is a nurturing and empowering support group designed exclusively for young women ages 18 to 26 who have experienced trauma such as gun violence, abuse, neglect and various mental health struggles. This unique space provides a safe and welcoming environment for survivors to come together, share their stories, and embark on a journey of healing and self-discovery. Our group sessions are characterized by open and empathetic discussions where participants can freely express their thoughts, emotions, and challenges. These conversations foster a sense of community and solidarity among the group members, reminding them that they are not alone on their path to healing. These young women are encouraged to find their voices and explore the depths of their emotions through various creative outlets such as journaling, vision boards, plate breaking, coloring and numerous other artistic expressions.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Epsilon Upsilon Omega Chapter- Diabetes Walk

Diabetes Awareness Walk and Information Expo will take place on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. This event will take place in Cadwalader Park in Trenton, New Jersey and our goal is to touch as many residents of the Trenton and Mercer County area as possible.
